On December 15, 2018, the new area known as Belvedere di San Secondo was inaugurated at Collina San Secondo in Ferrere, a particularly picturesque site and one of the most beautiful balconies overlooking the seven hills surrounding Ferrere.
The area stands on formerly unused municipal property just below the Chapel of S. Secondo Martire, probably built in the seventeenth century, where passes the road that is part of the “paths of Saints and Brigands” (Regional Hiking Heritage).
The arrangement designed by Studio Morra of Asti, which places a work of art by Sergio Omedè at the most important and scenic point, is intended as a rest area for wayfarers, cyclists, tourists and residents to relax and also to meditate.
The work is entitled “Ferro del Mare Padano”: in addition to Ferrere, five other works by the artist are being installed, in as many points of view, in Mongardino, Montaldo Scarampi, Rocca d Arazzo, Rocchetta Tanaro and Vigliano d'Asti.
