It belonged to the noble Magnificent Mr. Gerolamo Prato, a gentleman from Astigiano region, podestà of Canelli between 1580 and 1610.
Severely simple, it is the only Canelli house to have preserved intact the ancient "rafter" ceilings and the original volumes.
