"A little thing that was needed here too": in the comment of a Villafranchese the positive reception that the book houses are having among the citizens.
The Municipality, which promotes the project, has recently completed the placement of the five micro reading points which will draw from the vast heritage of the "Paolo Luotto" Civic Library (eight thousand titles), but not only: "The spirit of the initiative will be fully realized if whoever takes a book will leave another, in order to create a continuous turnover in the reading offer", recalls the councilor for Culture Delfina Noto.
"A reason for satisfaction - underlines the mayor Anna Macchia - is that no hooligan act has so far involved the houses, built with recycled materials, a non-random choice since Villafranca has long been among the Municipalities awarded the title of 'Recycling Municipality' by Legambiente".
The circular bookshops are located both in the historic center and in the villages: in front of the former church of San Giovanni, frequented by the young students of Progetto Futuro Musica, in the Valentino Park where the children play, near the railway station, also available to commuters, and in the hamlets of Sant'Antonio and San Grato.
Some houses are equipped with a seat in order to facilitate the rest of the readers for an unhurried choice of the volumes to take and leave.
The service is free and, for each reading point, provides 20 to 25 titles for children and adults.
