• Who we are
Picolandia is the association that brings together the truffle hunters of Montafia.
It was born in 2003 from the idea and need of 14 truffle hunters all residents and / or owners of land with a truffle vocation in Montafia and surroundings, with the specific purpose of protecting the collection and production of truffles but above all that of managing the funds with a vocation about truffles, also with the direct collaboration of the owners themselves, protecting and safeguarding the natural heritage.
The association is non-political, non-profit, any residual management are intended for purposes in favor of the environment.
Since 2010 it is part of the A.T.A (Associazione Tartuficoltori Astigiani).
The A.T.A, constituted on September 15th 2010 and based in Montiglio Monferrato, manages about 160 hectares of land with a truffle vocation and contains 11 various truffle huts and various private truffles.
• Picolandia objectivies
Protection and increase of the natural production of the truffle and consequent protection of the environment
Protection of the interests of the members
Stimulate compliance with relevant laws and promote the enactment of new laws
Collaborate also with other organizations and organizations that pursue purposes related to the truffle sector
Protect truffle dogs, encouraging their training and care, also in terms of health and hygiene and avoid any abuse and violence.
Promote technical educational and demonstration initiatives for the knowledge and enhancement, identification and recognition of truffles.
• How Picolandia works
Assembly of members by March 30 of each year, convened by the president with the related topics to be discussed (membership fee, appointment of council, maintenance funds, new plantings) any extraordinary work (example: irrigation, repairs from atmospheric events or other).
The council meets whenever the president deems it necessary.
The Association is composed of a president elected by the assembly that performs acts of ordinary administration that fall within the scope of the association, by a vice president who assists him in all circumstances and takes his place in his absence.
A secretary who takes care of the bureaucratic-economic issues, draws up minutes, makes payments and generally takes care of the administration and the image of the association with the collaboration of two undersecretaries.
The offices of the association are voluntary and do not give entitlement to compensation, except for any reimbursement of expenses incurred.
All members have the right to view the documents at any time and the member who is not up to date with periodic payments is considered excluded by the association.
All those who, while not directly practicing truffle harvesting, can demonstrate that they share the association's aims can be part of the association.
Those who intend to be admitted to be part of the association must make a written request to the council, which unquestionably expresses its judgment on the matter.
No shareholder may transfer, donate, sell his shareholding or membership of this association to other persons or companies, without the consent of all the other shareholders.
